New Ross Ready To Party

New Ross is celebrating its 200th birthday this weekend.

There are events planned around the community to celebrate.

Julie Glaser works at Ross Farm Museum and she says New Ross is a unique place.

“I love the fact that New Ross is in the middle of the province. It’s super easy to get to but when you get here you really do feel like you’ve stepped back in time a little bit.”

As part of the festivities, Ross Farm will host a tea party with a twist on Sunday.

Glaser says bring your own cup and come in period clothes from any time in the last two hundred years.

“People are welcome to come in slapper outfits or little house on the prairie outfits or eighties punk rock if they want. We’re hoping people will come to the tea party dressed in style.”

A street parade will make its way down highway 12 starting at 1:00 Saturday afternoon.

The weekend will kick off with a Night Market at the fairgrounds Friday night and wrap up with a fireworks display on Sunday.
