A chance meeting has brought a Swiss couple to Barss Corner.
Timothee Carrel and Sandra Gramenzi have been travelling the world for two years.
While in Cuba they were invited by a Nova Scotian couple to come to their cottage in Barss Corner.
Gramenzi says they couldn’t resist.
“We were all, yeah sure we come. So we didn’t know where Nova Scotia was. So we decided to come here and stay for a while just to discover this part of Canada.”
Carrel says a trip like this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
“It’s quite difficult to travel – to let everything down. Our work, our flat, our house. It’s better to do once. And so we wanted to do something very big.”
Gramenzi and Carrel say of all the places they’ve been, Canadians are the most generous about opening their homes.
Nova Scotia is the last stop on their trip before the head home next week.
