Seven Mile Lake Fire Grows; DNR Looking At Favourable Weather Conditions

The Department of Natural Resources says weather conditions look more favourable today as crews continue their fight with active fires throughout the province.

Sun and cloud with a chance of showers and light wind is expected to help.

Some rain is in the forecast until Monday.

The fire at Seven Mile Lake remains active and has increased in size to 377 hectares.

Crews are making progress and the fire remains 40 percent contained.

The fire at Ten Mile Lake in Queens is 15 percent contained at about 8.3 hectares.

Fires at Perch Lake in Pictou County and Maitland Bridge are being held and are 100 per cent contained at 10 hectares and 21 hectares respectively.

Fires in Greenfield, West Dalhousie, Clyde River, and Round Hill are completely contained and are being patrolled.

A section of Trunk 8 in Maitland Bridge remains closed due to active water bombing.
