Third Candidate Running For Mayor Of Queens

A third name has entered the race to be the next mayor of the Region of Queens Municipality.

Forty-three year-old Scott Costen of Liverpool is challenging incumbent Christopher Clarke and other candidate David Dagley.

Costen believes there is a lot of untapped opportunities in Queens County.

“I think our quality of life is something that if we really aggressively market ourselves, we could attract new residents and new business which is what we really need here.”

Costen says he offers a willingness to be creative and try new and different things to help Queens prosper.

He feels fresh blood and a new face is needed to provide leadership in Queens County.

“I don’t have that type of baggage and I think perhaps understanding municipal politics but not having any experience in it, it’s not necessarily a bad thing. I think I could come in and put my own stamp on the mayor’s position.”

The former member of the Canadian army says he considers himself an alternative to two status quo candidates.
