Some of the construction in and around Bridgewater has eased.
Work on the Cookville bridge finished this week, reopening to motorists on Tuesday afternoon.
Spokesperson Brian Taylor with the Department of Transportation says three expansion joints were removed and damaged concrete was repaired.
He says more work will be done this fall.
“Later this fall the contractor will be paving the section, which includes the bridge deck. Once that is complete, TIR bridge crews will go back in and install new expansion joints.”
Taylor says the new expansion joints will provide a smoother ride on the bridge.
The total budget for the project is close to $100,000.
