A marketing coordinator has finally been approved for the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre.
The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg gave it the green light at their most recent council meeting.
It follows the Town of Bridgewater’s approval in July.
General Manager Kevin Benjamin says he’s optimistic to have someone in the role by December.
“We do have a lot of activities and events that are happening continuously, but there are all kinds of other initiatives and projects that we want to get going that we just haven’t had the ability to get to.”
The town and municipality will split the $50,000 cost to create the position.
Benjamin says the coordinator will promote membership opportunities and different types of programming at the centre.
“And it’s also going to give us another individual to help us go out and source more special events and activities that we can attract to the facility.”
The coordinator will be in place for two years.
A review will then recap the work completed and determine if the position is still needed.
