No decision has been made yet on potential changes to Bluenose II.
Transportation Minister Geoff MacLellan says a review of the vessel’s steering system is underway.
There were a number of public sails cancelled last summer due to problems with the rudder and mechanical operations.
MacLellan says that needs to change.
“There is an importance of having a season free of interruptions to the best of our ability, so that’s really the focus of this and that she’s tiptop and ready to go.”
Discussions include whether the rudder should be wooden, steel or composite.
MacLellan expects the review to be complete by February.
