Lumberjacks Prepare To Open Training Camp

The start of a new year for the South Shore Lumberjacks.

Thirty players will gather on the ice Sunday when the ‘Junior A’ club opens its training camp at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre.

Head Coach Kyle MacAllister says he’s looking forward to getting started.

“I’d like to get the guys used to the way we’re going to play and get our systems in place. It will be a good mix of hard work and learning. Hopefully, things go well and they pick it up smoothly and we’ll get going quickly.”

The Lumberjacks are trying to build on last season when they advanced to the division finals for the first time in franchise history.

There will be three days of camp before the Lumberjacks play Valley in their first exhibition game on Wednesday.
