One Year Later: NS Gas Shortage

Motorists are having a much easier time at the pumps then they were this time last summer.

It’s been about a year since the three day gas shortage in Nova Scotia.

Since then prices have stabilized.

Dan McTeague, Senior Petroleum Analyst for Gasbuddy.com says, in fact, current prices are pretty low compared to many points in the last five years.

“It’s providing people the ability to save several hundred dollars a year on gas purchases, which can be put to other use in the economy.”

McTeague says he doesn’t expect the low prices to last forever.

But he says with new regulations in place another shortage is unlikely anytime soon.
