In MHL action in Berwick yesterday the South Shore Lumberjacks had a 3-1 lead late in the second period but they couldn’t make it hold up as they lost 4-3 to the Valley Wildcats. Ex-Lumberjack Justin Ritcey was the game’s first star making 40 saves. The contest was a nasty affair with close to 100 minutes in penalties being handed out.
In Bridgewater, the Pictou County Weeks Major Midgets completed a weekend sweep of the Charlie’s Pizza South Shore Mustangs with a 9-2 victory.
The O’Regans Subaru Western Hurricanes blasted the Dartmouth Whalers 7-1 yesterday in Bridgewater. Ben Charles had two goals for the Hurricanes. Other scorers were Brendan Amiro, Will Chisholm, Jensen Glover, Cole Spidle and Max Nickerson.
