A New Mayor For Queens County

It went late into the evening, but a new mayor was elected in Queens County last night.

David Dagley will be leading council when they resume later this fall.

He credits his success to getting an early start on his campaign.

“I put up my signs, I secured their locations. But knocking on doors and holding meetings and chatting with business, it takes time.”

Dagley says he was listening to what the voters said during the campaign.

“Well, they’re looking for growth in population, they’re looking for increased job opportunities. Generally, they like to see a growth in population.”

Dagley previously ran for mayor in 2012.

This time, he takes over the position from incumbant Christopher Clark after capturing 1573 votes to Clarke’s 1271.

Dagley thanked Clark for his time as mayor and says he now looks forward to getting down to work.
