A Lunenburg County man is facing child pornography charges.
According to a news release, the Nova Scotia RCMP’s Provincial Internet Child Exploitation unit arrested the Birchy Head man after being tipped off by a social media application.
Investigators were directed to the 44-year-old man’s residence after the social media application notified them that child pornography was being shared on their service.
As a result of the investigation, the man has been charged with transmitting, making, and possessing child pornography.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested without incident and remanded.
He will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court today.
