Board Chair Satisfied With Latest Review Meeting

Less than a week left before a decision will be made on whether to move grade 10-12 students from Bridgewater to Park View.

The school board met Wednesday night to ask staff to answer their most pressing questions.

Two major concerns are how programming and finances would be impacted.

Chair Jennifer Naugler says it was a productive evening.

“I was feeling fairly satisfied by the end of the evening. I was trying to gauge the feel of the room and I certainly felt that things were quieting down as far as questions went.”

Naugler says school review is an emotional issue and a challenging time for many people.

School Board staff has indicated it could save up to $309,000 within two years of the transition.

Naugler says she feels the school board is ready to make an informed decision.

But she adds, there will still be time for a few last minute clarifications before the vote next Wednesday at Bridgewater Junior Senior High.
