Mary Fay and her curling team out of Chester will play for gold at the World Junior Curling Championship in Denmark.
The Canadian representatives beat Hungary 9-4 this afternoon to clinch a spot in tomorrow morning’s final against the United States.
The Fay team found themselves in an early 2-1 deficit after two ends but found their groove, scoring eight points through ends three to seven to take a commanding 9-2 lead.
Hungary would score two in the eighth end before the two teams shook hands.
Canada and the United States have split their matches this week; Canada taking the round robin game 5-3 and the U.S winning the 1-2 page playoff game 8-7 earlier today.
The final will be held at 5 a.m. Atlantic time on Sunday.
The Fay team will be trying to make history.
No women’s junior curling team from Nova Scotia has ever won the World Junior Curling Championship.
