Bridgewater Town Council is eager to hear from residents.
They’ll be taking shifts at centre court of Bridgewater Mall tomorrow to talk about the upcoming budget or anything else people wish to discuss.
Mayor David Mitchell says the effort is a great way to engage with the public.
“It’s easy to sit in a council chambers and say, oh, I wonder if anyone from the public will show up? This way we can put ourselves in the public realm. It gets us out so we talk about whatever anyone wants to talk about in the community.”
Mitchell says the feedback makes a difference.
“It absolutely does all go back to council. We all take notes and we all share them as a group and make sure that any ideas, they come to the surface and that we can see where they will lead us.”
Mitchell says he’ll be there from 1:00pm until 4:00pm and all councillors will be taking shifts from 9-6pm.
