There are 11 months before next fall’s municipal election but that isn’t stopping Bridgewater’s mayor from announcing his future plans.
David Walker will re-offer for the position next October.
The 67 year-old has spent 25 years on council including one term as mayor and two terms as deputy mayor.
He says he still gets excited about municipal government.
“Still passionate about it, still believe I can make a commitment and would therefore welcome the opportunity to serve as mayor for a second term.”
Walker says he’s proud of work done by the town to engage with residents.
He points to ‘Talk Bridgewater’ sessions, ‘The Bridge’ newsletter and more presence on social media as positive steps forward.
Walker says there have also been positive steps in sustainability and downtown revitalization.
