The mayoral showdown is still on.
Don Downe, Mayor for the Municipality of Lunenburg, challenged Dave Walker, Mayor for Bridgewater, to strap on a hockey sledge and meet him on the ice.
Downe says the past few weeks have been particularly busy, but he plans to give it a try before Mayor Walker thinks to do the same.
“He’s still trying to figure out what time zone he’s on,” Downe says. “So, I’m going to go out and practice ’cause I really want to make sure I do alright.”
Downe says there isn’t a date set for the official face off.
The International Sledge Hockey event that sparked the idea will take place in January.
