Bridgewater: Developer Pulls Out Of King Street Project

A proposed development in Bridgewater has fallen through. Milestone Properties was looking to build a three-story multi-unit apartment complex at 388 King Street. However, they have informed the town they are withdrawing their application because of excessive costs to develop the site. The town’s planning director, Eric Shaw, says it’s discouraging news and adds, “I think the desire was there, they were making great strides in responding to some of the issues that were identified in our early staff report and we were really looking forward to seeing the project move forward, but the economics apparently didn’t work out for the developer.” Shaw says there were challenges regarding flood risk as well as parking for the type of infrastructure proposed. He’s hopeful a new suitor will step forward and show interest in the land.
