Bridgewater could witness the birth of a couple of new businesses this weekend.
The Mashup Weekend hosted by Mashup Labs gives a group of people 24 hours to see how far they can develop a new business idea.
According to facilitator Andrew Button, the event works to find the entrepreneur in everyone.
“Given that constraint of time, people really think differently about how they can easily go about trying to validate whether or not there is a business idea there.”
Button says a panel of judges will then assess the ideas.
“Those judges will not only give them great feedback and advice on the business and on the idea. But also look to pick the ones they feel are the top one, two or three projects over the course of the weekend.”
The event kicks off Friday night at 6:00pm.
