The Bridgewater Fire Department urges people to develop a home fire escape plan.
Fire prevention programs are ongoing in the region.
However, Chief Michael Nauss says there are still many who have a smoke alarm but no plan for the family when it goes off.
“It’s kind of alarming to a certain degree because people are never really prepared for an emergency situation like that.”
Nauss says they’ll work on getting the message through during their first emergency service fair Saturday from 1-5 p.m. at the fire hall in Bridgewater.
