There will be no crossings on Saturday for the Yarmouth to Portland ferry.
Nova Star Cruises has cancelled its two scheduled trips due to expected high winds and extreme tide conditions.
President Mark Amundsen says the safety of the guests is their top concern.
Passengers affected by the cancellation can either re-schedule or cancel and receive a full refund.
The service is expected to resume at 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
Nova Star Cruises advises all guests with reservations for either of the two cancelled sailings to call the reservation centre at 866-864-6295 or (902) 800-3566 in Nova Scotia to make alternate arrangements.
