The province contributes funds for new trail system to promote healthy living.
The new path in Bridgewater will connect a neighbourhood to a park, a sports field and businesses.
Deputy Mayor of the Town of Bridgewater, Bill McInnis says the project fits in with with the Town’s campaign to encourage people outside and exercising.
“We are a very active community, we have an active transportation committee which promotes active living and in particular, walking.”
The project will link the Glen Allan subdivision to the Generations Active Park, the LaHave Sportsfield Complex, the Centennial Trail and businesses in Bridgewater.
Government and the Town of Bridgewater will each kick in $17,500 to cover ongoing work to improve a baseball field, a dog park, the trail loop and other park features.
McInnis says they’re almost halfway finished the project.
