The Town of Bridgewater is the next municipality to decide it will look deeper into amalgamation in Lunenburg county.
Council voted unanimously to explore joining forces and sharing services with nearby municipalities.
The decision came just a few hours after the Town of Mahone Bay.
Mayor David Walker says they will have a public meeting to discuss the issue.
He says there is a lot to discuss moving forward.
“What’s the tax rate going to be if we join with somebody else? Who is picking up this debt? Who is paying for this or that? Those are questions we can’t answer right now.”
The meeting will be held in Bridgewater on August 24.
