Phase one of the off-leash dog park is nearing completion in Bridgewater.
The first phase of project includes landscaping, trail loop and an off-leash area for dogs.
Bridgewater’s director of Parks and Recreation, Sandy Mair-Dodman says there’s also an eco component.
“We’re working with the Bluenose Coastal Action Foundation and they’re helping us develop two rain gardens. We have a little bit of landscaping to do around the perimeter of the park,” said Mair-Dodman.
An extra 18-thousand dollars was secured through the provincial Connect 2 funding program bringing the total cost of the park to 105-thousand dollars.
Mair-Dodman says it should be open to the public sometime this spring or early summer.
