A Halifax company has been tasked to build ‘Our Health Centre’ in Chester.
Avondale Construction is expected to begin work before December.
They were the lowest bid among six companies vying for the work at over $2-million.
Board Chair Don Munroe says he’s pleased to see things starting to come together.
“I know we’ve been working at this for about seven years. There has been skepticism and rightfully so with respect to if we’ll ever get it going. Now that it is going, people are saying this is going to work.”
Avondale built the Learning Centre at Ross Farm in New Ross and helped renovate the Fisheries Museum in Lunenburg.
Dexters Construction is currently preparing the site off Highway 3.
Six doctors and a nurse practitioner will be housed in the centre once it is complete by next November.
