Nova Scotia’s NDP are calling for the premier to remove his chief of staff.
A conversation between MLA Andrew Younger and staffer Kirby McVicar was secretly recorded in February.
It revealed McVicar hoped a court case against Younger would be thrown out and he also offers to find Younger’s wife a job.
Chester – St. Margaret’s MLA, Denise Peterson-Rafuse, says there is no confidence in McVicar.
“People of Nova Scotia have to be able feel comfortable that their premier is being advised appropriately.”
Peterson-Rafuse says the situation is disappointing and feels Stephen McNeil needs to fire McVicar.
Meanwhile, McVicar has said he will not resign because of the situation.
