A review of RCMP services is coming in Queens County.
The Region of Queens hasn’t examined the cost of policing in a few years.
The 2016-17 preliminary budget shows a $66,000 increase in protective services to $1.95-million.
CAO Richard MacLellan says they have to understand the increase in costs.
“Simply an opportunity to take a look at this expenditure and have a conversation with the community and the RCMP about that expense.”
A committee will be created to review service levels, contracts and monthly reports.
Recommendations are expected in six months.
