‘Curl For A Cause’ Records Best Fundraiser In Its 15 Years

The hospital in Lunenburg will be getting some new upgrades.

This year’s 15th annual ‘Curl for a Cause’ helped raise almost $40,876 for equipment at Fishermen’s Memorial.

Items include a blood collection chair, a bariatric wheelchair, a crash cart for the ER and two stretchers.

Managing Director of the Health Services Foundation, Arleen Stevens, says they’re happy with the amount of money raised.

She says they budgeted around $41,000 for the equipment, meaning they reached their target.

The three-day marathon event was held over the weekend and involved about 200 people at the Lunenburg Curling Club.
