A small group of people at a Lunenburg County school helped pay tribute to a fallen soldier.
Corporal Paul Davis was killed on this day in 2006 during his deployment in Afghanistan.
Bridgewater High School Principal Daphne Egilsson, teacher Jane Berrigan and student council president Claire Jaworski placed a yellow ribbon on Davis’ red maple tree next to his memorial plaque.
Berrigan says it’s important to reflect.
“Here at the school, we wanted to remember the number of countless sacrifices and contributions that are made by Canadian soldiers each day around the world and it was our way of having a small token to acknowledge Paul Davis’ personal sacrifice.”
The tree was planted next to the memorial plaque last September at Bridgewater Junior-Senior High School.
