It started as a grass fire on Wednesday but spread to the woods quickly, burning more than 13 hectares of land.
The Department of Natural Resources tackled the fire by helicopter and brought it under control late yesterday afternoon.
The forest fire index is extreme in Shelburne county, very high in Queens and high in Lunenburg county.
Burning brush or campfires is restricted between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
