The producer of a documentary about common barriers to accessibility is the latest winner from the Awesome Foundation of the South Shore.
Alex Peeler says he’ll use the $1,000 prize to rent lighting and other equipment to shoot the film.
Peeler says as the province enacted accessibility legislation last year, the timing is right.
“The conversation about accessibility is in full-swing and we want to try and keep that conversation going. We think this is a good way to do that.”
Peeler hopes to shoot and release the documentary sometime later this year.
The next Awesome award will be handed out May 29th.
