Environment Canada Says White Christmas Is A Fading Hope

Around this time every year many people on the South Shore start hoping for a white Christmas.

The chances don’t look good this year.

Darin Borgel is a meteorologist with Environment Canada.

He says the term “perfect Christmas” requires specific conditions.

“The meteorological definition is at least two inches of snow on the ground,” he says. “Plus snow falling at the time.”

Borgel says he doesn’t expect temperatures to get low enough for snow this year.

He says next week will be mostly mild and wet.
