There’s a chance repeat drunk drivers could get their license back under new laws in Nova Scotia.
The “faint hope” clause allows those who have had their license permanently revoked the chance to drive again.
Those drivers can apply for reinstatement after 10 years of being without their license.
They would be under strict and continuous monitoring – but the new law gives those drivers another chance.
Transportation Minister Geoff MacLellon says part of the monitoring includes involvement in the alcohol ignition interlock program.
About 86 people are eligble for the “faint hope” regulations.
