Police Urging Pedestrian Safety At Busy Intersection

Bridgewater’s police chief says they have received plenty of messages regarding a busy intersection.

The traffic lights at the intersection of North Street, Aberdeen Road and Glen Allan Drive have been out since early January.

John Collyer says there have been many near misses between pedestrians and vehicles.

He says it’s concerning and both parties need to pay closer attention with nice weather approaching.

“The biggest thing, I think, is making that eye contact with the pedestrian and the pedestrian needs to make eye contact with the motorist as well. If both can get on the same page then the pedestrian can proceed.”

The lights will be fixed by mid-May.
