Feds Invest In Linking Trail System Between Bridgewater and New Germany

It’s another step forward in an effort to link up the trail system on the South Shore.

The federal government is investing $62,000 to help connecting the trail between Bridgewater and New Germany.

The LaHave River Trail Association is leading the project.

Chair Helen Feesey Ferns says the money will develop roughly five kilometres.

“We really feel we are working on an important piece of infrastructure which allows people to remain healthy and use in all kinds of different ways.”

The final phase of the trail work will begin in 2017.

When it’s finished, the old railway bed will connect with the Annapolis Valley trail system.
