Plenty of things on the go this weekend to help you get in the Christmas spirit. It starts Friday night in Mahone Bay and the beginning of the 10th annual Father Christmas Festival. It starts at 6:30pm at the bandstand with a tree lighting ceremony. The festival goes until next Sunday. In Lunenburg, the Heritage Christmas and Parade Weekend also begins this evening. Santa Claus is coming to town with the tree lighting and parade tomorrow evening. Saturday is also busy in Bridgewater. The town will host the Chronicle Herald Christmas on the LaHave parade. The event goes from 5-8pm, with the parade starting at 6pm. A celebration of all things gingerbread in Chester with the annual gingerbread festival opening on Saturday, which lasts until December 13. And, from Saturday until December 7, it will be a Countryside Christmas in the New Germany Area.
