Folk Harbour Festival Gets Federal Support

Ottawa is supporting a popular musical event in Lunenburg. The federal government is providing $46,000 to the Folk Harbour Society, including $23,000 for this year’s event. The other $23,000 will be used to help support next year’s Folk Harbour Festival. The festival is held annually. This is the 29th year and it goes from August 7th to 10th at six indoor and outdoor venues. More than 100 performances will be held by over 40 traditional and contemporary folk artists from across Canada and the United States. There will also be music and dance workshops, artists’ talks, songwriters’ circles, and a one-day music conference. More information on this year’s festival can be found at http://www.folkharbour.com/ .
