A former broadcaster with CKBW has died of leukemia.
Les Stoodley passed away Monday in Edmundston, New Brunswick at age 75.
He spent several years in Bridgewater during the mid-to-late 90s and early in 2000.
His son, Kurt Stoodley, says his father enjoyed his time in town.
“He loved the small town feel and he was such a people guy and meeting people. Becoming a member of the community was pretty special for him.”
Stoodley started his broadcasting career in Newfoundland and also hosted a quiz show on CBC for high school students.
He was known for helping people in Alcoholics Anonymous and was sober for the last 47 years of his life.
