Google is teaming up with the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
Trails across the country will soon be available for view as a ‘virtual hike’ thanks to the Google trekker.
A hiker will carry the 63 pound rig that has 15 lenses taking pictures every 2.5 seconds.
Gaff Point in Lunenburg County will be featured as part of the project.
Stewardship Coordinator Doug van Hemessen says the trail is worth the effort.
“You can see the trees and plants that grow there but also you have the ocean,” he says, “So, it’s kind of a complete package that’s really acessable to people.”
A small group of people were lead by Doug van Hemessen from the Nature Conservancy this past weekend making the trail picture perfect.
“Putting in some more boardwalk-type structures, putting in warning signs for some of the parts that are getting a little too close to the cliff.”
The trekker is expected to visit Gaff Point in August
