For many on the South Shore the first serving of hodge podge is a summer tradition.
The Bridgewater Community Gardens Network is hoping to be a part of it.
They’ll be serving some up at their open house happening tomorrow at the Hodge Podge garden on Aberdeen Road.
Garden Coordinator Chris Sanford says even if you don’t have a green thumb everyone is welcome.
“Whether you’re into gardening or not I think everyone loves hodge podge,” she says. “Interacting with each other, that’s how we build community.”
Sanford says they’re also eager to show off the work they’ve been doing around town.
She says they want to make fresh food part of people’s everyday lives.
“Just to have more food growing in the area, and visible to passersby. So we can not necessarily think of it as something that’s just grown far away, incorporating it into our landscape.
Festivities kick off at 1 p.m.
