Gas And Diesel Prices Expected To Rise This Week According To Analyst

The cost of a litre of both gasoline and diesel is expected to go up at midnight when the province’s regulator sets prices.

Dan McTeague with Gasbuddy.com thinks gas will only go up by point-6 or point-8 cents a litre.

He says for the past three weeks the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board has been giving Nova Scotians the highest prices that anyone pays in North America for wholesale gasoline.

But he says the increase in diesel could be higher.

That’s really just tied to the fact that as colder weather sets in furnace oil demand heads up and of course that puts quite a premium on diesel so, one-and-a-half maybe two cents a litre increase overnight.

McTeague says it depends on what type of methodology the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board uses this week.
