Gerhardt Falls Short of Film Award But Thrilled To Be Finalist

Lunenburg’s William Gerhardt did not win this year’s film crew excellence award from Screen Nova Scotia.

But, the 44 year-old is holding his head high for being recognized as a finalist.

“You don’t do a job like this for the recognition, you do it for the chance to be creative and to do some work that you enjoy. I couldn’t do it without a great team at home that supports me.”

Gerhardt says there are some talented people in Nova Scotia.

“To be nominated in a group that come to work every day with the extremely high standards in that industry is a huge accomplishment for me.”

A ceremony was held Thursday night in Halifax.

Gerhardt says he loves living and filming in Lunenburg County with all its local scenery and proximity to Halifax.

He is currently working as a greens person on a production on Oak Island.
