A local company has just received a multi-million dollar investment from the federal government.
Sustane Technologies will use the $2.6 million it received to build a new demonstration facility in Chester.
The facility will convert solid waste from landfills into recyclable materials and high-value fuels that burn cleaner than fossil fuels.
That will result in less pollution and healthier communities.
MP Bernadette Jordan was in Chester to make the announcement.
The funding is coming from Sustainable Development Technology Canada, which works with Canadian companies to bring early-stage clean technologies to market.
According to Sustane Technologies, the facility should be operating by the spring.
