Green Party Not Dead Yet

It appears the reports of the Greens death has been greatly exaggerated.

Last week, Nova Scotia Green Party interim leader Brynn Nheiley announced the party was folding, citing a lack of leadership candidates.

Ian Charles, the official agent for the Green Party says the party is alive and well and actively looking for a new interim leader.

He says the announcement last week by Nheiley was premature.

“So I guess out of frustration , Brynn basically said, ‘Well, since there’s no leadership candidate and I have to leave, the party’s going to have to fold.’ But that’s not the case.”

Charles says they are many candidates from whom to choose an interim leader.

And he looks at this as a time of renewal.

“This is actually a time to step forward for all potential Green candidates out there,” says Charles. “Let’s get things going and see what we can do.”

Charles says Nheiley is stepping down on July 9th and the Green Party will have a new interim leader in place at that time.
