A deserving family in Bridgewater will soon be have a place to call home.
A piece of land on the corner of Glen Allen Drive and LaHave Street has been donated to Habitat for Humanity.
Chair Hank Middleton says he’s excited about the land, not just for the family, but for the organization as well.
“It’s going to be a great lot for a family, in a very, very, good location,” he says, “and, really, a superb location for Habitat South Shore because of visibility. It’s a very high visibility location.”
Middleton says they won’t build a home for someone who doesn’t have enough money to maintain it.
He says anyone who receives a home will need to pay a mortgage and commit to putting sweat equity into the house while it’s being built.
They hope to start building in April.
