Health Authority Holding Conversation On Collaborative Family Practice Teams

The Nova Scotia Health Authority will be hosting a public session on family practice teams.

It takes place Thursday, April 12 at Mariners Centre in Yarmouth from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

NSHA spokesperson Fraser Mooney says it will be a conversation and an opportunity to help educate the public.

“We want to give people an opportunity to see what these teams look like and how they can help access to care in areas where there’s been difficulties and challenges. At the same time we want to ask some questions too. We want to find out what the community thinks about the model.

A public conversation was held last month in Digby, one will be held in Liverpool in the coming weeks and another in June in Shelburne.

Mooney says they have been told by community members that the health authority needs to do a better job at communicating information on collaborative family practice teams.

Mooney says seating is limited.
