Hennigar Takes Over District 5 School Board Position

The South Shore Regional School Board has appointed a new member for District 5.

Tina Hennigar from Mahone Bay is taking over for Elmer Garber, who had to step down due to health reasons in November.

She says she didn’t take the decision lightly.

“I do think it’s an important job, it’s an important role and I don’t think it’s going to be an easy one. But, I’m quite hopeful and excited about the opportunity and the challenge.”

Hennigar will remain in the position until the municipal elections this fall.

She says she needs to settle into the new role before deciding if she’s going to run.
