Highway 103 To Be Twinned From Tantallon to Hubbards

The federal and provincial governments are partnering to twin a section of Highway 103.

A joint announcement was made in Hubbards this morning to provide $140-million to twin from Upper Tantallon to Hubbards.

The work includes twinning more than 22 kilometres of road, new bridge structures over Mill Lake, Little Indian Lake, and the Ingram River and a new interchange in Hubbards.

South Shore-St. Margaret’s MP Bernadette Jordan says it’s welcome news.

“This is something I heard a lot about during the campaign; people talking about how important it is to twin the highway for safety reasons, as well as for businesses, for increased tourism.”

The provincial government is providing $74.3-million while the feds are spending $65.6-million.

Work on Highway 103 will start by next April and is projected to end in 2023.
