Two local hockey teams begin play in one of the biggest tournaments in Atlantic Canada.
The Chronicle Herald East Coast Ice Jam gets underway at the BMO Centre in Bedford.
The Charlie’s Pizza South Shore Mustangs are in the major midget division.
They open up play against the Tri-Pen Osprey tonight at 8pm.
Meanwhile in the major bantam division, the O’Regan’s Subaru Western Hurricanes face-off against the St. John’s Hitmen today at 1:30.
This is the fifth year for the tournament.
