There’s a new ‘one stop shop’ for everything you need to know about the Town of Bridgewater.
Spokesperson Patrick Hirtle says the concept behind ‘Discover Bridgewater’ is to provide a place where residents can ask about town projects and tourists can learn about local highlights.
“If you have questions about ‘Take Back the Riverbank’ or if you just want to chat about it…and we’ve actually partnered with the DesBrisay Museum and the visitor information centre to have an interactive tourism display here as well.”
He says the town is trying to change the perception of Bridgewater as a ‘pit stop.’
“People sort of like to overlook it in favour of Lunenburg or Mahone Bay, but we’ve got a lot of good activity going on here, and a lot of positive energy too,” he says. “Stop, park the car, and stay with us for a bit.”
The centre has taken over a spot on King Street across from the old bridge.
The official opening will be next month, but Hirtle says he’s already there most days to answer questions.
